When I was in the US Army and though college and my 20's and 30's I enjoyed working out, taking care of my health and music of course. Somewhere in my forties, like a lot of us I got in some bad habits, eating poorly, not working out, etc and was not taking care of my health.
My early fifties I made a half hearted attempt but when I turned 55 I challenged myself to get my health and fitness back and that year I decided to approach this like I would getting better at trumpet playng, study with a great teacher or in this case fitness / bodybuilding coach.
Just like practicing trumpet, to get better my bodybuilding efforts, health and fitness has paid off by cleaning up my diet and training with a plan and purpose. It has been a fun journey and my health has never been better. I am now 58 years old, in great shape and I am feeling great..
If you want to follow me, find out a bit more about my fitness and health journey and my competing the last couple years in the NPC amateur bodybuilding I have more things posted on my facebook pages.
The past two years I have been competing in NPC amateur bodybuilding shows for fun and to keep myself motivated. With some hard work and dedication I have been placing most often in most shows I have done in the top three and earned several first place finishes in both men's masters division over 50 and in men's open class ( over 225lbs ) and I made the nationals in Pittsburgh in 2019.
